Speaker RFP

RFP for Speaker Presentations

IABC Long Island seeks speakers for our monthly meetings in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.  The speaking engagement will consist of approximately a 45-minute session then 15-minutes of Q&A for a total of 1 hour. It is anticipated the meeting will draw 20-30+ communicators from Long Island.

The meetings provide sessions of interest in key areas such as content management, employee communication, branding & marketing, public relations, business management skills, change management, strategy & counseling, measurement, leadership, technology, senior level issues, and practical skills development.

Highly interactive sessions and case studies are in great demand by our audience, therefore proposals that focus on either of these topics may increase the likelihood of being selected for a speaking slot.

While we expect attendees to represent entry-level through senior level communicators, a survey of past attendees shows that more than half were senior level communicators with more than 16 years of experience, with a significant number reporting more than 25 years of experience. Because of this, we will be focusing several of our programs on topics of interest and relevance to senior communicators. Emphasis will also be placed on helping attendees in their workplaces, which include corporate settings, academia, not-for-profit organizations, health/medical facilities, manufacturing, small businesses, and independent settings.

Topics can be on a variety of subjects. Some key areas that past conference goers have expressed an interest in for future conference sessions include:

  • Branding
  • Business Management Skills
  • Business Reputation
  • Career Management
  • Change Management
  • Content Management
  • Communication Strategy
  • Crisis Communication
  • Employee Engagement
  • Global Communication
  • Integrated Marketing Communications
  • Internal Communication
  • Leadership
  • Research and Measurement Best Practices
  • Public Relations
  • Skills Development (writing, editing, etc.)
  • Social Media & Social Media Measurement
  • Technology / Future Trends

Individuals interested in making presentations at IABC Long Island meetings must complete a Speaker Information and Presentation Proposal Form.
